Our 2010

Our 2010 was filled with  a lot of joy, and unfortunately some sadness.  Here is our Journey in 2010:

To start off on a good note, I began a new job with Olympus Surgical.  I sell laparoscopic medical devices for them, and I can not express how much I love my job.  To put it in layman's terms, I sell cameras that are used to look in the body for minimally invasive surgery.  I spend most of my time in the operating room watching cases, teaching surgeons and staff about our equipment, and generating new business within the OR.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job!

The first part of 2010 was great... it was very snowy here in Dallas and the spring was gorgeous!  In March, Nick and I celebrated one year of marriage and our birthdays.  March is a busy month for us!!  Later in March, we went to Kingwood, TX to celebrate Nick's father's 60th birthday!!!  To say the very least it was a blast!!!  We had karaoke and we definitely dabbled in some wine!

Get a load of the birthday boy, Dale and Nick's youngest brother Mark singing their hearts out!

The very end of March through the rest of the summer was where Nick and I realized that where there is life there is death, and where there is death there is life...  At the very end of March Nick's Grandfather passed away, one day after his 91st birthday.  Opa, or Rudolf (Rudy) Markwald lived a full life.  He was born in Germany, was a retired Lutheran pastor, was a POW not once, but twice in his life.  He also spoke six languages... maybe more!  He was a complete joy to be around and he never missed an opportunity to take a picture of his family.

You can read "Victory Over Defeat,"a novel based on his life, and written by his wife Marilynn Markwald... it is a must read!

Just a few weeks later Nick's Grandmother Osberg passed away.  She too was 91 year of age.  She was a very petite and kind woman.  I was fortunate enough to meet her twice on visits to Chicago.  Both her and Rudy will truly be missed.

During this same period of time my Grandmother, Arby Walker (Nana,) became sick.  We found out that she had a heart condition.  She came up to Dallas and lived with Nick and I for 2 weeks before she had open heart surgery.  The surgery was a success, and after a month in the hospital she went to a rehab facility, where she fell and broke her hip.  After hip surgery my Nana was never the same.  She passed away in August at the age of 80.  The two weeks she spent with us were some of the best weeks of my life... I am so happy that Nick had a chance to truly get to know my grandmother and to see how important she was in my life.

Opa, Grandma Osberg, and Nana will truly be missed, and will always be loved... they will be in our hearts forever.

Here is where all of the good things happened for us!!!  In June our precious God-daughter was born... words can not describe how beautiful she is and what a blessing she is in our life!

Later on in June my first cousin, Laura got married to her high school sweet heart, Colby!

Then on July 7th God gave us three more precious girls... I think women are trying to take over the world!

My first cousin Jean, gave birth to twin girls at 1:45 pm and 1:46 pm:

Claire
Emma
My friend Chelsea then gave birth to Adeline at 6:22 pm on the same day... You could say I was in Heaven!

Adeline

In Nick's first cousin, Jon and Betsy, had a baby BOY in September!!!  We can not wait to meet him!!
Nathan
Even more exciting news!!!  Nick's middle brother, Kyle, got engaged!!!  They will be getting married in October of 2011!  Paige (or Windsor if you prefer,) is wonderful and I can not wait to have a sister-in-law!

Last, but certainly not least, Nick and I found out that we will be having Cade!!!!  We both are very excited for what 2011 will bring for us.  We love you all and wish you a very happy new year!!
