Where Have the Past Two Months Gone!?!?!?!

I can not believe that Cade is almost two months old!  At eight weeks Cade is a LOAD!  I think he weights about 11 1/2 lbs.  He is most definitely out of his newborn clothes and he is now in 0-3 months!  Cade now can hold his head up pretty well on his own, he has found his hands (I am praying he doesn't start sucking his thumbs,) and he has began to smile and react to Nick and me.

His smile can light up my entire day! He normally is very happy in the mornings and will smile when you smile at him or if Nick does something goofy.  He is still doing pretty well at night.  He puts himself to sleep, but he is still waking up two times a night.  If he can just figure out that if he just woke up at 3:00 instead of at 1:00 and at 4:30 it would make his mommy SO happy!  I am sure he will drop a feeding in time, but he is his father's child and he likes to eat!  At least when he wakes up he eats and goes right back to bed, no questions asked.

Nick and I are having a blast with him.  Caden loves to sit on the couch with Nick's arm wrapped around him while Nick watches TV or catches up on work.  He is so content just sitting there with him.  I am doing my best NOT to make him a mama's boy, but there are just sometimes when all he wants is a little love from him mom!!!  Can you blame him!?!?!?

Cade is also obsessed with the ugliest pacifier on the face of the planet...  it makes him happy though, so when he is in a melt down the ugly paci comes out!

They look worse in person!
I still think Cade looks mostly like Nick, but I am slowly starting to see more of my features.  I sometimes wonder if I was just used as an oven to make a "mini" Nick!  His eyes and his chin are all Nick's... his nose and cheeks are up for debate!  I could care less who he looks like, because I think he is just the most amazing thing I have ever laid eyes on... I promise I am not bias!!! Hahaha!

We are going to the doctor on the 21st for his first round of shots and for a newborn check up.  Nick has to get some shots too!  Then on the 25th I go back to work, and Cade goes off to the babysitter.  His babysitter is amazing... she has been keeping my friend Chelsea's baby, Adeline, for the past year.  She only has 3-4 children there at a time, so Cade will get great interaction with other children, will have plenty of attention from the sitter, but will not be exposed to all the germs that come with a daycare.

I am nervous to leave him, but excited to go back to work.   I am just trying to tell myself that I know that the first week will be more traumatic on me, than it is on him.  Hopefully Starbucks can cure the "leave your baby for the first time blues!"

I will post an update next Tuesday after we go to the doctor!  For now, have a great week!!!!

Here are some pictures from the past month:
